Little known or caricatured beyong recognition, the Basque country is
larger than generally supposed, with landscape of astonishing variety,
many of them sharply contrasted with one another.
From the arid desert of the soule, from industrial Bilbao to the elegant
resort of San Sebatian, these portraits record a series of chance encounters
made during a journey through seven provinces straddling the frontier
between Spain and France.
The double perception afforded through the use of both text and images
gives a clearer insight into the live of the subjects, seen here in the
context of their working lives.
